Our club, established in 2021 by Head Coach Ryan Steenkamp in partnership with Scotch College and Iona Presentation College, offers a diverse range of swimming experiences. 

From beginners in our learn-to-swim program to aspiring national champions, we welcome all who value the benefits of swimming. With prime locations at Scotch College and Iona Presentation College, featuring heated 50m and 25m pools, we provide an ideal environment for aquatic enthusiasts of all levels.

At Highlanders Swimming Club, we provide a clear and inspiring pathway for athletes at every stage of their competitive journey — from junior emerging swimmers taking their first steps in racing, through to athletes performing on the national and international stage.

Our program is built on a strong foundation of technical excellence, individualised development, and a culture that celebrates hard work, resilience, and team spirit. Junior swimmers begin by learning key racing skills through fun and engaging club nights, receiving guidance from senior athletes and qualified coaches. As they progress, athletes enter structured development pathways that include State Championships, Development Squads, Flippers programs, and targeted skill-based training.

For those with higher aspirations, our high-performance pathway supports swimmers all the way to Nationals. With specialised coaching, video analysis technology, race-ready preparation, and exposure to elite development opportunities—including AIS, Junior Dolphins, and Next Gen Camps—our athletes are equipped to perform at their highest potential.

Highlanders swimmers consistently excel at State Championships and National meets, with growing representation across national squads and podium finishes at the highest levels.
