At Hooked Swim, we are dedicated to unlocking your child’s swimming potential.
Our squad programs enhance technique, fitness, and speed while instilling a lifelong passion for swimming. Emphasizing character development, hard work, and leadership, our squads foster a balanced lifestyle and a fun, supportive environment.
Partnered with the Highlanders Swimming Club, our programs offer pathways from Club nights to National Championships, focusing on technique and a strong work ethic.
For those not aiming for competitive levels, our Age and Adult Surf Squad offer alternative pathways to achieve personal goals.
Squads
Junior Emerging Squad
The first squad following the Learn to Swim program.
The focus is on developing an athlete’s ability across all four strokes and their race skills. There is an emphasis on introducing basic skills and knowledge to assist in competitive performance and the squad environment.
- Interested in competitive swimming and joining the Highlanders Swimming Club
- Age range: 9-11 years.
- Swim: 2-3 sessions per week
- Length: 60 minutes
Junior Competitive Squad
The Junior Competitive Squad caters to junior and young-age-group swimmers involved in competitive swimming. The focus is on developing an athlete’s ability across all four strokes and their race skills. There is an emphasis on developing a swimmer’s foundational skills as a young athlete and assisting them in competitive performance.
- Competitive Member of Highlanders Swimming Club
- Age: 10-12 years
- Swim: 3-4 sessions per week
- Length: 1.25 to 1.5 hours
State Squad
The State Squad is the level above the Junior Competitive Squad, tailored for dedicated young swimmers in competitive swimming. There is an emphasis on building an athlete’s competitive knowledge, introducing various training methods and preparing swimmers for peak competitive performance while laying the foundations for future aspirations.

- Age: 12-14 years
- Swim: 4-5 sessions per week
- Length: 1.5 to 2 hours
- Dryland: 30 minutes 3 x week
Age National Squad
The Age National Squad caters to accomplished competitive swimmers with age national aspirations. There is an emphasis on developing a swimmer’s individual character as an athlete and preparing them for optimal competitive performance.

- Age: 14-18 years
- Swim: 7-8 sessions per week
- Length: 1.5 – 2 hours
- Gym: 2 sessions per week
Open National Squad
The Open National Squad represents the pinnacle of competitive swimming at Hooked Swim, tailored for elite open swimmers dedicated to their sport. Our program inspires swimmers to excel at national and international competitions, nurturing aspirations for success on the global stage.
