After retiring from elite competition, Hooked Swim has been the perfect place for me to keep my fitness up and my technique and skills sharp. Ryan is a passionate and knowledgeable coach and the atmosphere at every session is always fun and positive.
My 12 year old daughter had been swimming competitively for 2 years and I could see she wasn’t enjoying it anymore…until she started training with Ryan!! In no time at all her love of swimming returned which as a swimmer myself meant the world to me. Ryan is always positive and encouraging and the kids have fun while still pushing themselves to achieve in the pool. Ryan’s technical coaching is second to none. He has even helped me adjust my own stroke for open water swimming.
Ryan’s Hooked Swim centres on building self-belief in his swimmers. Amongst being a perfectionist with technique and speed, he teaches you that confidence isn’t something you can dream of it, it’s something you have to earn, and those who earn it by demonstrating performance in practice are the ones who have it when it counts, in competition or everyday life.
As a parent, I was concerned that my five year old son who had been doing swimming lessons for several years was not developing his skills to a level that made my wife and I feel comfortable when we were near or in the water.
